Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that any person can master. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." I just couldn't get enough enjoyment from it. Following graduation, Chef Burrell spent a time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. She also is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the United States to discuss her culinary passion and career. Anne has stated during her career in the kitchen that she feels so fortunate to be able to share what's most important to her.
