Rosamund Pike
Born in London
in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actress. She was the sole child of a
classical violinist mom Caroline (Friend) as well as an opera singer father
Julian Pike. Both parents were extremely hard-working and she travelled extensively
throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike was born in Bristol and went to
Badminton School. She then began acting at National Youth Theatre. Pike first
made an appearance in a National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and
Juliet". She was signed by an agent following being observed. Pike also
began acting at the National Youth Theatre. While her film debut was a
high-budget action movie but the film following was primarily in smaller,
independent films such as Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for
which she received the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent
Film Awards) as well as Pride & Prejudice (2005) as one of the Bennet
daughters. A brief venture into Hollywood film was followed by the
action-packed film Doom (2005) and the thriller Fracture (2007) however, she
made a return to smaller films featuring outstanding performance in three
films: An Education (2009) as well as Made in Dagenham (2010) as well as the
lead role with Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her
acting career in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof Johnny English Reborn
(2011) as well as portrayed the role in the role of "Andromeda" in
the epic sci-fi thriller, Wrath of the Titans (2012). She returned to action
films with her female lead in the film Jack Reacher (2012). Tom Cruise in Jack
Reacher (2012).
