2 Chainz Biography

Tauheed Epps (also known as 2 Chainz), is an American rapper and hip hop artist. Georgia born, Epps began his musical career when he and a high school buddy created the hip-hop group Playaz Circle. Their first album, titled Supply & Demand" was a flop. Epps released his album 'Based On the T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. It became a massive success, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200. Within the first week, it sold 147,000 copies! The success of this album has earned him the status of famous and he quickly became a star in the US's hip-hop scene. He's been nominated six times for Grammy Awards, one of them was for his song "No Problem". When he was discovered to be in possession of marijuana and promethazine, he was detained aboard a plane departing Los Angeles International Airport in 2013. However, his run-in with the law hasn't affected his popularity. The fourth album, and the most recent one, titled "Pretty Girls Like Trap Music", came out in June of 2017. "Based on a T.R.U. Story, 2 Chainz's first studio album, is both his first major record and also his biggest commercially successful. It was a big success and reached the top spot in the US Billboard 200, as well as sold 147,000 copies within one week. The album sold 623,000 copies over one year. It was nominated for the 55th Grammy Awards for 'Best Rap Album'. The reviews for the album were mixed. 2 Chainz got married to Kesha Ward on March 31, 2013. The couple have three children: Heaven and Harmony. He is well-known for his bad behavior and his successful career. He has been detained numerous times for possession of drugs.
