Antonique Smith, who was a performer and actress from East Orange New Jersey in 1983, made her acting debut in an unimportant role in the television show created by Sidney Lumet 100 Centre Street. Born in East Orange New Jersey in 1983, Smith made her acting debut with a small role on the Sidney Lumet-created television series 100 Centre Street in 2002. Then she got more notice starring as Mimi in the smash Broadway musical Rent from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, she also appeared as Grace Evans as Julie Taymor's feature film Across the Universe. For the Biggie Smalls biopic Notorious the actress showed her acting and vocal abilities. Smith earned a multitude of acclaims for her role, which led to her being cast in other films like Abduction (2011), starring Taylor Lautner & Alfred Molina; and Yelling to the Sky (2011) with Zoe Kravitz and Gabourey.
